The RimWorld Diaries (Entry 2)
Entry 2
Sunset
I awoke today quite suddenly. As if it wasn’t already hard enough to sleep with everything we just went through, not to mention being out in the elements, I had Yumi lying next to me going on about some drunkard. Was she trying to talk to me, even though I was asleep, or was she just talking to herself? I’m not really sure, but I think it best if we keep a bit of an eye on her.
I didn’t have much time to be upset though, while I was asleep Jon found some local wildlife that he deemed worth eating! I didn’t ask questions about what kind of creature It could have been. All I know is that I’m glad we won't have to succumb to consuming what, ‘meat’, we found in the wreckage. Even with spirits high right now, I’m not sure any of us could’ve bared that.
I think I’ll go grab a bite to eat before I continue my work out in the fields. Maybe if I’m lucky Jon will have finished cooking up a bit of the wild game he found today. I could use a decent meal.
Early Morning
I had to take a break from sowing the fields, I could’ve sworn I saw something out in the distance as I worked. At first I assumed it was just some local wildlife, but as time went on It looked to be human! I took a quick walk in that direction, but I can’t be sure. Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Was it another survivor? If it was, surely they had to have seen me. Why wouldn't they have come to join the group? Nothing to do I guess besides return to the fields. Maybe I’ll ask the others if they’ve seen anything when everyone wakes up tomorrow.
Late Morning
I’ve finished with about half of the crops now. Hopefully they’ll grow well here and we’ll have a steady supply of fresh produce coming in. I’d kill for the taste of a strawberry right now. Yumi is here working on our shelters. She’s nearly finished with them now. Maybe tomorrow we’ll each have our own proper rooms to sleep in. Well, I say proper. Four walls and a roof are better than nothing though. I tried to get a bit closer to her. I’m not sure what I was thinking. Everything we’ve gone through, it just wasn’t the right time. Regardless, with the sun rising some hours ago I think I’ll have a rest.
