The RimWorld Diaries (Entry 10)
Entry 10 (Septober 15th-Decembary 1st, 5500)
Midnight
You know what’s really been wonderful? Having a steady stream of fresh food. I just hope we can get the cooler up and running in time to stop it all from spoiling. Jon says Yumi and him have been working on it practically non stop. He also mentions that he really wishes I'd grow some zucchini for him to cook with. I’d love to plant some more diverse vegetables, but we don’t really have that option out here.
Early Morning
I tried to build a few of the cooler walls myself. I made a fair bit of progress. I can certainly see what’s taking Yumi so long. This stuff isn’t exactly easy to work with. Granted it's better than nothing. Besides, I got enough done to at least turn on the cooler I had built. Not sure if that’s going to be enough to chill the entire area, but we have more coolers now if we need them.
I think I’ll go give making some of these blocks a try now. We seem to be constantly low on them, I’m sure Jon and Yumi could use the help.
Morning
You’d never believe the creatures I saw today! The size of at least 5, maybe 6 people. Fur covering nearly half of their bodies, and a massive bladed horn coming out of their head right between their eyes. I thought for a short moment about trying and hunting them, but I quickly realized I may not stand a chance with my little revolver. Hell, Jon may not stand a chance and he has a decent hunting rifle at his disposal. No, I think we’ll leave them be for now. Instead I’ll play a bit of horseshoes and get some rest.
